Michelle Schaub is an award-winning children’s author and teacher. She has a passion for poetry and a fascination with nature and science. Michelle loves using wordplay and the rhythms of language to delight, inspire, and empower kids, especially when it comes to caring for the Earth and its residents. Her most recent books are A Place for Rain and Leafy Landmarks: Travels with Trees. She is also the author of Fresh-Picked Poetry: A Day at the Farmers’ Market, which won the 2018 Growing Good Kids Award and 2019 Northern Lights Book Award; Dream Big, Little Scientists; and Kindness is A Kite String. As a teacher with over ten years of experience, Michelle understands the challenges of meeting educational demands while keeping a love of reading and writing alive in students. Through her interactive, skills-based programs, participants gain a new appreciation for the richness of words and specific writing strategies. Michelle offers a variety of formats, including assemblies, classroom visits, writing workshops, and virtual visits. Her programs can be customized to any age of students from pre-K to 6.
