I am a local Chicagoan who loves writing stories. My graphic picture book series, Ava the Monster Slayer: A Warrior Who Wears Glasses, was inspired by my daughter's early need for glasses. I previously worked as a social worker for 20 years, including a decade as a Title One School Social Worker. I enjoy interacting with children of all ages and, drawing on my social work background, I incorporate social-emotional learning into my books. I live with my husband while our three adult children are out and about in the world. Additionally, I am blessed with two grandsons, and I care for my mom, who has dementia.
