Darcy Day Zoells is an author and illustrator based in Chicago. Her illustrations have received many awards and been exhibited at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. She is the author and illustrator of The New Bicycle (Clavis Publishing, 2023) which won the Gold Medal in the Key Colors Competition and is an Illinois Reads selection. It is also a Children’s Book Council, Librarian’s Favorite and has been included in the Bank Street Best Picture Books in the Spanish Language list (La bicicleta nueva). A second book with Clavis, Smithy and Me, will be released in the spring of 2025, features emotion-provoking illustrations that beautifully complement the story. A book full of imagination and fun, but also full of mess and mischief. For children ages 4 years and up.
