Caryn Rivadeneira has spent her life imagining what’s up every twisty staircases, what’s behind every creaky, sneaky door, and what’s lurking in every spooky space she’s ever passed (and may have snuck into a few of these places!). Caryn lives in the near-west suburbs of Chicago with her husband, three kids, and her rescued pit bulls. There may or may not be a ghost hiding in her attic. Caryn is the award-winning author of more than twenty-five books for both children and adults, including the award-winning Frankinschool Mystery Series; Edward and Annie: A Penguin Adventure (Shedd Aquarium and Tommy Nelson, 2022); Saints of Feather and Fang: How the Animals We Love and Fear Connect Us to God (Broadleaf Books, 2022); and the Helper Houndsseries (Red Chair Press). Caryn seeks to write stories that spark wonder, fuel curiosity, and craft worlds that help kids and adults find their place in this one. Aside from being a writer, Caryn is a trusted and experienced editor, communicator, and collaborator. She is a proud member of INK: A Creative Collective and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Caryn holds a BA in English from Calvin College (now University) and an MA in Worship Arts from Northern Seminary. Caryn lives in the near-west suburbs of Chicago with her husband, her three kids, and her beloved rescue pit bulls. Caryn is represented by Adria Goetz at KT Literary.
